In this workshop, Ron Lee helps students experience the Five Stages of Soong (Song)- intention, breath-work, mental awareness, progressive muscle-tension release, and centering. Soong is roughly translated as “relaxation” but it is a difficult state to achieve because most do not know how to “let go”. This principle is one of the most critical achievements for the cultivation of Qi and self-awareness and is an essential state for all marital arts and qigong practices. Each stage of Soong is presented and the principles then applied to Wuji, standing and moving meditation. |
