Whether you’re an aspiring teacher to-be, an assistant in your class, a senior student, or a teacher of many years experience, this seminar is for you.
Join Matt and Jo Anna, co-chairs of the Teacher Certification Committee, as they explain how to apply for GPYTCA certification, what the criteria for certification are, and how to maintain certification once you’ve received your first 4-year certificate. Learn the benefits that are available to certified Teachers and how certification supports the Guang Ping Yang T’ai Chi Association. A Question and Answer period will be included to address your specific concerns so you can begin your path to becoming a certified teacher.

Matt Peterson has been a Certified Teacher since 2019. He is a direct student of Grandmaster Henry Look and is certified as a teacher in Sifu Look’s Tri Internal Martial Arts. Matt teaches in El Dorado Hills, CA. Matt joined the Board of Directors in 2020 and serves as Vice-President Elect.
Jo Anna Schoon has been a Certified Teacher since 2003. She is a direct student of Grandmaster Y.C. Chiang from whom she received permission to teach. She teaches taijiquan and Dayan qigong in Laguna Beach and Irvine in Orange County CA. Jo Anna has been on the Board since 2016 and currently serves as its President.
